About Us

About iGrow

We are a small, friendly and successful independent pre-schoollocated in the northern suburb of Bloemfontein, Dan Pienaar. The school runs on the same schedule as the government schools, thus is closed during school holidays throughout the year. During the term we are open Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00. I grow first opened its doors in 2017, and has since grown to accommodate 60 learners between the age of 18 months and 5 years old. The school is comprised of 3 classrooms, an office, a fully functioning kitchen and a spacious outdoor play area.

iGrow allows children the freedom to be and learn through play and meaningful experiences. iGrow is Reggio Emelia and Montessori inspired – both these philosophies originated in Italy and are to a large extent child-led. iGrow recognizes that our children go on to main stream schools and the children are therefore introduced to the CAPS curriculum in a fun and playful way. Our main focus lies in developing the child physically, emotionally and socially in a holistic way, so that they are ready for what is to come.

Beliefs and values

A child centred approach

  • To provide our students the necessary tools, in a prepared environment, indoors and out, to foster the joy of learning.
  • Giving them opportunities to grow in independence.
  • To assist our students in their discovery of themselves and aid them in overcoming obstacles that prevent them from becoming the best version of themselves.

At iGrow we are a community. Parents, teachers and learners are required to work together. Everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

At iGrow we value individualism and do not discriminate against race, religion or belief. Everyone is welcome. We believe in equal opportunity. Children learn to respect everyone regardless of differences.

We value happiness and the joy of being. Through our daily rhythms and activities, we aim to nurture the children’s emotions, and bring out the best in them. Every moment provides an opportunity for meaningful learning, which ignites positive and joyful feelings.

Our aim is to cultivate children:

  • That are happy
  • Independent
  • Well mannered
  • Self-confident
  • Motivated
  • Socially adjusted
  • Critical thinkers
